Windsor Square(Web site) The boundaries for Windsor Square are Wilshire Blvd. to Beverly Blvd. and Arden to Van Ness. It is located 5 miles west of downtown Los Angeles. Windsor Square is a well-preserved neighborhood with aged trees and large lawns; it is undoubtedly one of the oldest communities in Los Angeles. On February 4, 2004, Windsor Square was voted "a neighborhood of significant historic homes," by The Los Angeles Cultural Heritage Commission. There exist 1,100 homes, most within walking distance to Larchmont Village. Residents are ethnically diverse and many are close friends. The LA Times called the community spirit "Mayberry-esque" - as can be witnessed during there annual block parties which have been held for the past 30 years. On February 5, 2005, an HPOZ was adopted on behalf of the Windsor Square Association Board of Directors. With an HPOZ in effect, the neighborhood shall maintain the right balance of property rights and historic preservation.
